Before each year of college, you can apply for federal grants, work-study, and loans with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. GTCC uses your FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility each year. Be sure to include our school code (004838) so that we can create your award letter as soon as possible. As a recipient of financial aid, you must pay attention to the application process, deadlines, and policy. We want you to get it, and keep it!

Our school code is 004838

No. You do not have to be full-time in order to receive financial aid. However, your aid may be PRORATED as a result. Also, state grants and loans require a minimum of half-time (six or more credit hours) enrollment. You can learn more about proration in our Award Supplement, located on our Financial Aid Forms page.

To see how your aid is affected by less-than-full-time enrollment, log in to Self-Service and click on "Student Finance" to view your current semester charges and prorated aid amounts.
